FileMaker Hosting

- Virtual server dedicated to hosting a single tenant's Claris FileMaker solutions.
- Can host the FileMaker files you need within the contracted capacity.
- One FileMaker Server installation hosts only files from the same tenant.
- Daily backup included on the server itself.
- FileMaker service configuration is determined when you sign up.
- The tenant must provide their own Claris FileMaker Server license.
Initial setup: €95 + VAT. This is the standard, recommended service for most installations.
Custom FileMaker Hosting
From €325/month + VAT
- Dedicated hardware for solutions needing a specific setup, integrations or more resources.
- Price is set based on CPU, RAM, storage capacity and number of users.
- Also considers database size, containers and external files.
- Server-side plugin installation, integrations and special configurations: optional, agreed at the time of contracting (SetFile does not supply the plugins).
For installations that need more power or have special requirements.
Configured for your solution
During contracting we determine which services your FileMaker installation needs. Turning them on doesn't by itself raise the price of standard FileMaker Hosting, but it must be defined in advance.
- FileMaker Pro / FileMaker client access.
- FileMaker WebDirect.
- FileMaker Data API (REST).
- ODBC/JDBC.
- OData.
Plugins, integrations and other special configurations are reviewed individually.
Backups
The standard service includes a daily backup on the server itself, with a 7-day rotation. The backup policy can be defined during contracting according to the needs of the solution.
Optionally, SetFile can manage external backups: database backups, container and related file backups, copies via an SFTP account provided by the tenant, or via external backup services contracted on Arsys infrastructure.
- External backup managed by SetFile (minimum 10 GB, with 2 rotations = 20 GB): +€25/month.
- Backup to the tenant's own SFTP account, 1 upload per week (rotation is the tenant's responsibility): +€10/month.
Indicative external-backup pricing; the final cost depends on the actual size and the agreed rotation. Container backups are quoted separately based on capacity and configuration.

Controlled updates
Claris FileMaker Server updates are not installed automatically in production. Before updating a version, we run a quarantine and testing period to reduce the risk of incompatibilities with existing solutions, plugins or integrations.
Planned update management can be contracted as an additional service.
Infrastructure in Spain
By default, our hosting services run on infrastructure located in Spain. For clients in other EU countries, we can offer alternative locations within the EU, adapting the service's location to the needs of the project and the client. The location is determined and confirmed at the time of contracting. SetFile is an Arsys Partner.

Is the Claris FileMaker Server license included?
No. SetFile provides the hosting service, but the tenant must have and provide their own valid Claris FileMaker Server license. You can check self-hosted pricing and licensing on Claris's website.
Can I host several FileMaker files?
Yes. You can host the FileMaker files you need within the capacity limits of the contracted plan.
Is my FileMaker Server shared with other clients?
No. Each FileMaker Server installation corresponds to a single tenant and only hosts that tenant's files.
Where is the server hosted?
The standard service uses Arsys professional infrastructure in Spain.
Are backups performed?
Yes. The standard service includes a daily backup on the server itself with 7-day rotation. External backups and specific container/file backups can also be contracted.
Can I use Data API, WebDirect, ODBC/JDBC or OData?
Yes, when the solution and license allow it. The services you need must be defined during contracting so the server can be configured correctly.
What if I need more power or a special integration?
For these installations there is Custom FileMaker Hosting, from €325/month + VAT. The configuration is sized according to CPU, RAM, storage, users and the characteristics of the solution.
